The term ATA means the case meets the criteria set forth by the Airline Transport Association (Specification 300) for reusable shipping containers. The criteria stipulates the use of recessed hardware and requires the case to withstand the rigors of a minimum of 100 round trips on both surface and air carriers under normal conditions.
